This is a good man

Rush had Justice Clarence Thomas on his show today for 90 minutes . It was fascinating. This is a good man. As you may know, he is married to a Nebraskan and loves Red State football. As he told Rush, "I bleed Cornhusker red." As great as that is, that is not what makes him good. Clarence Thomas is a brilliant, articulate, and humble man. When Rush asked him what his role on the Court is, he answered: JUSTICE THOMAS: My role is to interpret the Constitution, when it's a constitutional case and a case or controversy. It's to interpret a statute. It is not to impose my policy views or my personal views on your Constitution, ...

Did Naughty Nancy violate Federal law?

Last week, our man Jeffy wondered whether Speaker Nancy Pelosi's snuggling up to Syria's state terrorist President Assad was an act of Treason, by violating Article 3, Section 3 of the Constitution, by giving "aid and comfort to the enemy." In assessing recent statements and actions of the Democrats it is helpful to look at the actual language of the Constitution. Was it treasonous for Nancy Pelosi to hold unauthorized meetings with the leader of Syria and then after doing so to declare that "the road to peace runs through Damascus?" Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution states, "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession ...

Reid and Pelosi Are Not The Commanders In Chief

In trying to understand the current conflict between the President and the Congress over the war in Iraq, it is helpful to actually read the Constitution. The Constitution is clear that Congress can not try to manage troop movements legislatively. Article II, Section 2 states, "The President shall be commander in chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states, when called into the actual service of the United States . . . ." By trying to dictate troop movements with a spending bill has it occurred to Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, or any of our citizenry that they are committing their own type of unauthorized invasion? They are invading the ...
