A Great Interview in the Most Unlikely of Places

This is a great interview by Jon Stewart on the Daily Show with Lt. Col. John Nagl, co-author of the Army’s Counterinsurgency Field Manual, i.e., the Surge strategy.

This is a smart, winsome and funny guy who is obviously also a skilled military leader. He was directing combat operations in Anbar province in 2004. His leadership in the way we took the fight to the insurgents, helped turn Anbar around and made former enemies our allies against Al Qaeda.

Lt. Col. Nagle calls the counterinsurgency in Iraq the “graduate level of war.”
