Here We Go Again
Continuing with their strategy of “if we say it long enough and loud enough it must be true,” Harry “Surrender” Reid and Nancy “I Heart Syria” Pelosi said today (again) that the surge has failed. What a surprise.
Their letter to President Bush starts off with three quick lies:
1. “As many had forseen, the escalation has failed to produce the intended results.” The last boots just got on the ground last week. How could we have produced all of the intended results this quickly? In fact, the President has said that the earliest we could begin to gauge The Surge would be September. All of that notwithstanding, this is still a flat out lie. The Surge is producing the intended results. The Iraqis are turning on Al Qaeda and the security situation in Baghdad is improving.
2. “The increase in US forces has had little impact in curbing the violence or fostering political reconciliation.” Political reconciliation? How’s this for political reconciliation: the Iraqis are turning on Al Qaeda–and they are calling on U.S. troops to help them in the battle.
3. “It has not enhanced America’s national security.” Some simple logic helps here. Iraqi and coalition forces are killing more Al Qaeda in Iraq due to the Iraqis getting fed up with the AQI terrorists. That by definition enhances our national security.
Statements like those made today are why we initially named this blog: ImpeachReidandPelosi.com
Reid and Pelosi are lying. The Surge is working.
