Did the Troops Voice Their Support to Stay in Vietnam?

I really don’t know the answer to the question, but my impression is that one of the differences between having an all volunteer force versus a draft is that the vast majority of the troops are more deeply invested in the mission. And so you get things like this: the troops pleading with our cowardly leaders to let them stay and finish this war.

Our troops are appealing to our political leaders to have courage at AppealForCourage.org where they can sign a petition urging the politicians to lay politics aside and let these warrior heroes finish the job in Iraq:

As an American currently serving my nation in uniform, I respectfully urge my political leaders in Congress to fully support our mission in Iraq and halt any calls for retreat. I also respectfully urge my political leaders to actively oppose media efforts which embolden my enemy while demoralizing American support at home. The War in Iraq is a necessary and just effort to bring freedom to the Middle East and protect America from further attack.

If things were unwinnable in Iraq, don’t you think the troops would want to get the heck out of there instead of making appeals for courage and writing things like this to Nancy Pelosi.
